We met Filibus in pains and begging to die. He had liquid seeping through his skull and didn’t know at the time that his mom and sister had been killed, and his other sister also critical from the same attack on their village. Filibus and his older brother were able to escape from their house when their village of Gonan Rogo in Kaduna State was attacked (May, 2020), but he heard his father’s cries as he was being cut up with machetes and came back to the house, hoping to save his father. In a mixture of bravery and the innocence of a child, he used a sling to try to fight off over 20 gun-wielding men that had attacked his home. His father made it out alive that day, but died from complications of high blood pressure about two months ago.
We have been taking care of Filibus and a donor graciously paid for a recent surgery due to complications from his injuries. Same donor has paid his school fees.
Today, WE ENROLLED FILIBUS IN SCHOOL!!!
I feel like such a proud Momma. ☺️
